Hair and Glasses

Paige got a new haircut.  She wanted to look like she did when she was 18 months old.  She got the idea from watching old home movies.

Nate got some new glasses.  Actually, he got 3D glasses when we went to see Monsters vs. Aliens this weekend.  He thinks he's quite special with his new specs!

Scuba Diving Brownies

I took my Girl Scout troop on a field trip to a local scuba shop where they learned to snorkel.  At the end of the lesson the instructor gave the girls the option to try scuba diving!  It was an excellent field trip and the girls had a blast.

You can see lots of photos of Sarah and Paige playing fishy if you click here.

"I Want to Look Like Draco Malfoy"

My boy always seems to have a haircut plan.  On our last trip to Mr. Steven, Nate was thrilled to come home looking like a businessman -- if you remember.  On this trip, he didn't want a haircut at all.  We rattled off ten different possible styles and he vetoed every one of them until, finally, he declared, "I want to look like Draco Malfoy!"

Draco Malfoy is Harry Potter's enemy at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  We've been reading a chapter a night and, as a reward, the kids get to watch the movie that corresponds to whichever book we just read.  We've only finished one book and are almost finished with the second.

Anyway, back to the story ..........

Nate asked to look like Draco Malfoy.  I told Mr. Steven to give him a regular cut and then style it like Draco.  The plan worked and everyone was happy.

Here's Draco Malfoy

Can you see the resemblance?

Sneak Peek

Tonight was the Daddy/Daughter Dance at the girls' school.  They got all dolled up, got corsages from daddy, went out to a fancy dinner, and are at the dance as I type.

I took a whole bunch of 'before' pictures but haven't had a chance to really look at them yet -- I've been on my date with Nate.  However, this picture caught my eye as I was downloading and I love it.  I had to take a second to put it in the blog!

Enjoy!

Can You See This?

Paige drew this picture.
It's her idea about how the sun sets at night.
I hope you can see it okay.

Random Pictures

Here are a few pictures that don't have a real story.
I just like them.

This is Paige very early in the morning with sleepy eyes.
She's laughing because she's sitting on the breakfast bar and she thinks she's a gargoyle.

This is Nate after he slid down our sliding board in his karate uniform
... after I warned him not to do it.

This is what a business man looks like when he is wearing his favorite jammies.
